The University of Luxembourg has just signed a new cooperation agreement with the University of Cyprus, thus formalizing a partnership with another young university from a small country.
The agreement foresees research collaboration as well as exchanges of scientific and administrative staff. It was formally entered into during an official ceremony in Cyprus on 12th March, in the presence of the Rector of the University of Cyprus, Prof. Constantinos Christofides and the Vice-President for Research at the University of Luxembourg, Prof. Ludwig Neyses.
The two universities have a lot in common. The University of Cyprus was founded in 1989 and is thus a relatively young university, just as the University of Luxembourg. It also has a comparable size, with about 7000 enrolled students. Both universities are also members of the Network of Universities from the Capitals of Europe, UNICA.
