Objective: To help students and new entrepreneurs with the basics of marketing and its importance in growing a business.

Workshop flow: The workshop will be conducted in 3 sessions, 3 hours each. We will cover best practices and steps to follow that will facilitate and ease your marketing efforts.

Workshop Content:

Session 1: Market Research, its importance in making or breaking a business.

  • What is market research and its significance for different focus groups (customers, market, competitors, product/service, etc.).
  • Different components of market research (Prepare, Define, Gather, Analyze and Report)
  • Types of Market Research – qualitative, quantitative, primary & secondary research
  • Activity and Q&A

Session 2: How to gain attention of the target audience by effective content marketing?

  • What is content marketing, and which content strategies you can choose for your business?
  • What is a customer/ buyer persona and how you can create it?
  • Content planning tips and templates (content buckets, sourcing content creators, preparing a content calendar, distribution strategy)
  • Mapping the effectiveness of the content marketing campaign
  • Activity and Q&A

Session 3: Tools that early-stage startups or freelancers can use for effective marketing.

  • Introduction to different tools (free or cost-effective tools) you can use for market research and content marketing.
  • Activity and Q&A
