+++ The exhibition is prolonged until 30 September 2021. +++
The Luxembourg Science Center hosts an exhibition of the science comic « LUX:plorations Vol. 1 – A Universe of Research ». The eight stories about science and research in Luxembourg have been developed in collaboration between Luxembourgish scientists and artists. Visitors will have the opportunity to read the comics in different languages, leave their feedback and take a hard copy of the comics with them to share with friends and family.
The comics have been developed by 23 doctoral candidates from different fields of research in Luxembourg. They collaborated with Luxembourgish comic artists Andy Genen, Sabrina Kaufmann, Antoine Grimée and Marion Dengler to produce eight short stories about different topics in science and research. Valérie Minelli provided the cover illustrations, character design and an additional comic about the protagonists of LUX:plorations.
The comics have been produced in the context of the DESCOM (Doctoral Education in Science Communication) project, which aims to support interactions between academia and the public by providing different modes of training in science communication. It is supported by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) as well as the Doctoral School in Science and Engineering (DSSE) and the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM).
