At the occasion of the International Women’s Day, the Gender Equality Office at the University of Luxembourg is delighted to invite you to an exclusive online event on Gender and the Pandemic.
The event is under the high patronage of H.R.H. the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.
It is a great opportunity to learn about current issues affecting women, to celebrate their achievements and to discover ways to empower women worldwide. It promises to be a truly inspirational and thought-provoking event.
COVID-19 pandemic has proven to be a major challenge for gender equality with women being disproportionately affected. The speakers will address major challenges that women have faced during the pandemic as a result of lockdowns: increase in gender-based violence, unemployment, loss of careers or decline in mental health. They will also discuss future opportunities to address longstanding inequalities in our society that significantly affect women around the world.
The event is organised by the Gender Equality Committee led by Prof. Skerdilajda Zanaj, in collaboration with Prof. Conchita D’Ambrosio and Prof. Claus Vogële.
We hope it will be a source of insight for those looking at the pandemic through a gender lens.
