Sybille Krämer is one of today’s most prominent media philosophers. Born in 1951 in Trier, she is Professor (ret.) of Philosophy at Freie
Universität Berlin. She has held lectureships in Zurich, Vienna and Lucerne. From 2000 to 2006 she was member of the Wissenschaftsrat, from 2006 to 2008 permanent fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin.
Since 2007 she has been member of the Scientific Panel of the European Research Council, which is the highest research funding organization of the European Union. In 2010 she was elected member of the Senate of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. From October 2018 through January 2019 she is Stadt Wien/IFK fellow at Internationales
Forschungskolleg Kulturwissenschaften in Vienna.
