What is an image?
Abstract: Any way of capturing and processing images is based on a mathematical modelling of the idea of an image. In this talk, we will try to show that the renewal of geometry by Grothendieck’s theory of toposes allows to conceive new modellings of images and to raise the question of the definition and study of possible spaces of images. A crucial feature of this new geometry is that it is no longer based on the notion of point.
