In our second session of 11 January, we will focus on the GDPR implications for your big data projects, such as purpose limitation, data minimization, data subject rights, automated decision making etc. What do they mean concretely and how can you accommodate them in your big data policies?

Speakers

For this session, the speakers are Erik Valgaeren, partner in the TMT department of Stibbe, and Andra Giurgiu, Research Associate at SnT, University of Luxembourg.

Registration

Registration is free of charge on a first come-basis. To enable lively debates we have limited capacity to 25-30 attendants. In order to secure a spot, please confirm your participation to our second session no later than 9 January. For more information contact andra.giurgiu@uni.lu.

Since the organizers will provide a free lunch we kindly ask you to register only if you can take part in the session and to let us know in advance if you will not attend. The second session will take place on Campus Kirchberg, Bâtiment Central, Salle des Conseils (BCE-E00-D17). A detailed plan of access will be provided upon registration.

Participants of earlier events of the series will be given priority in subscribing to the subsequent sessions, once registration is open. In addition, a certificate of attendance will be provided at the end of the series to those participants who have attended all five events.

Why should I attend?

As of 25 May 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation will have a broad impact on IT governance. Our complimentary sessions will enable you to learn from experts and exchange ideas, concerns and challenges about the impending GDPR in a lively roundtable format.

Who will be moderating this event?

An experienced team with a combination of academic and pragmatic insights with regard to the GDPR who will be discussing and sharing key insights and best practices.

Do I have to commit to the event(s) right away?

Yes. As we have limited seating capacity and provide lunch.

What if I can’t make it after all?

Please let us know as soon as possible. Alternatively, you may also send a colleague in your place.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

The closest bus stop is Coudenhove-Kalergi. You can also use the public parking right off 6 rue Coudenhove-Kalergi. The closest tram stop is University.
