Your Role
This Ph.D. position is related to the work conducted by a research team on policy coherence for sustainable development as part of the GAMMA (« Innovación para la Integralidad en la Gestión Ambiental del Desarrollo Sustentable Apoyado en Datos Masivos y Aprendizaje Automatizado “ (Use of Big Data and Machine Learning for the Integrality of Environmental Management of Sustainable Development)) Research Program in which the University of Luxembourg is a participant through its contribution to the Chair in Regional Integration and Sustainability at INECOL (Xalapa, Mexico). The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Prepare a doctoral thesis in sustainable development or policy coherence for development
- Assist the professor with his editorial activities related to the journal Regions & Cohesion (five hours per week maximum).
- Collaborate with the professor on methodological modeling of policy coherence for sustainable development
- Occasionally lecture in the professor’s courses in the university’s Master in European Governance
Your Profile
- Master Degree or equivalent in a field related to sustainable development or policy coherence for development
- Practical experience in public policy; policy evaluation; development
- Strong methodological skills. A background in environmental/ecological sciences or development studies will be considered an advantage. Knowledge of quantitative modelling will also be considered an advantage.
- Language skills: Written and Oral Fluency in English is necessary. The successful candidate will also need to be able to interact on a daily basis within a research team where Spanish is also utilized.
