Birte Nienaber gives a keynote on the « Learning by leaving » conference 2018 in Cologne.
The European Union supports young people to become mobile – especially inside the EU. However, there is still only a small percentage of young people becoming mobile. The keynote speech will present youth mobility of six different mobility types: vocational education and training, pupils’ exchange, mobility of higher education students, voluntary services, employment mobility and mobility in entrepreneurship. Quantitative and qualitative data especially gathered in six EU/EFTA countries (Germany, Hungary, Luxembourg, Norway, Romania and Spain) will be presented based on the results of the H2020 project MOVE. These results show hindering as well as fostering factors for young people to become either mobile or to stay put.”
