LuxERA invites educational researchers to contribute to their inaugural conference from 8 to 9 November 2018. All people active and interested in educational research in and on Luxembourg are welcome to join the dialogue and provide their perspective on education (research).
LuxERA seeks to provide an open space for a wide range of disciplinary, theoretical, methodological, and thematic contributions on Luxembourg as a unique educational context. Highlights will include studies reported in the Luxembourg National Education Reports (Bildungsbericht Luxemburg) and national and international keynote speeches by leading scholars in educational research as well as a round-table discussion with stakeholders. We encourage diverse participation, including young scholars to present their projects.
Key themes will include:
- research on education systems;
- diversity and inclusion;
- multilingualism from early childhood to tertiary education;
- educational and social inequalities;
- assessment and diagnostics;
- teacher professionalisation;
- teaching and learning;
- (lifelong) cognitive adaptation and learning strategies
Inaugural LuxERA Conference «Luxembourg: A Unique Educational Context? Perspectives on Education (Research)» 8-9 November 2018, Campus Belval
Contributions: educational researchers are invited to contribute to the conference with a presentation of 20 minutes (5-10 minute discussion) or a poster. Submitted papers should have an explicit focus on the conference theme.
Languages: English, German, French, Luxembourgish, Deutsche Gebärdensprache (interpretation will be offered if desired, depending on conference participation). Abstracts (300-400 words) in the presentation language: The outline of your paper should cover key questions, theoretical issues, methods applied, and (preliminary) findings. Please provide the following information: Family name, First name(s), E-mail address, telephone number, and postal address along with a brief statement of your involvement in education research in Luxembourg. Please indicate if you are or would like to join LuxERA as a member.
Deadline for abstract submission is 1 August 2018. Please submit your abstract to luxeraconf@gmail.com.
Venue: The conference will take place at the University of Luxembourg’s Belval Campus.

The Luxembourg Educational Research Association was officially founded in January 2018 to encourage collaboration amongst educational researchers in Luxembourg and to promote communication between individuals interested and engaged in education (research). LuxERA supports the dissemination of education research results and provides a platform for these to contribute to the improvement of educational policy and practices. LuxERA is a candidate for full membership in the European Educational Research Association (EERA, www.eera-ecer.de), an association of more than 35 national and regional Educational Research Associations from all parts of Europe that is organised in thematic networks.
