In the framework of our lecture series about Cross-Border Labour Mobility, Prof. Monras gave a detailed lecture about the consequences of low-skilled immigration on the US labour market.
In the long run, low-skilled immigration wage effects are absorbed by the US labour market. The only lasting consequences are worse labour market conditions for low-skilled natives entering the labour force in high-immigration years, and lower housing prices in high-immigration locations.
This lecture series is organised by the LISER & the University of Luxembourg, in the framework of 2 FNR-funded projects: ACROSS and MINLAB.
Next lecture will feature Prof. Patricia Cortes on 10 March 2022 about immigration and female labour supply. Registration is mandatory by email to noemie.courtois@uni.lu
