The Department of Law of the FDEF and the Clinique du droit du Luxembourg, are organising this hybrid event.

Abstract

The Clinique du droit du Luxembourg is pleased to invite you to the « Conference on Consumer Law Clinics – An EU/US perspective ». Bringing together representatives from several European and American clinics, the conference will focus on the different aspects of clinical teaching of consumer law, as well as on traditional substantive issues on consumer law and economic justice. After an overview of clinical legal education in the United States and Europe, the conference will feature three workshops around the challenges and best practices of legal clinics:

-« Getting to know each other » will be an opportunity to discuss the specificities of American and European clinics;

-« Students and Consumer Law Clinics » will focus on students and the pedagogical aspects of their involvement in clinics;

-« Creating your Law School Clinic » will address the different types of clinics that can be created and how clinics can make a difference in the field of consumer law.

A visit to the Court of Justice of the European Union and a presentation on current issues in European consumer law will close the event.
