On March 10, we were very proud to welcome Prof. Patricia Cortes affiliated with Boston University.
In the framework of our lecture series about Cross-Border Labor Mobility, Prof. Cortes gave a detailed lecture about the outcomes of Immigration and females’ labor supply.
In her research, Patricia Cortes focuses on the impact of low-skilled immigration on labor market outcomes of native women. As instance, she shows how immigration flows to the US between 1980 and 2000 have increased of about 48 minutes a week the time that women with a professional degree (or a PhD) devote to market work.
This lecture series is organised by Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) & University of Luxembourg, in the framework of 2 Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Luxembourg funded projects: ACROSS and MINLAB.
Next lecture will feature Prof. Michael Siegenthaler on 28 April 2022 about Impact of commuting flows & labor market discriminations.
