Abstract
A decade ago, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (CFREU) entered into force. This Charter was supported by the European Trade Union Confederation, hoping it would strengthen the Social Constitution of the EU. The reference to the value of solidarity was considered to be a step forward. A decade later, it is time to assess what the added value of the CFREU has been for the workers in Europe, based upon an analysis of the jurisprudence of the CJEU.
