IRISC acknowledges the complexity of reliable, secure, and trustworthy systems and the multiple factors leading to misuses and cyberattacks. To design solutions, they apply principles such as human-centred design, and security by default and by design; to assess security, they rely on both tools for automatic analysis and laboratory research. The group collaborates with experts from other disciplines, including social sciences, physics, bioinformatics, and law. IRiSC offers a stimulating, collaborative work environment and professional training in a cross-disciplinary dialogue that allows both early career and experienced researchers to acquire a broad expertise in cybersecurity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>National and international partners will find the know-how in IRiSC experts to solve challenging real-world privacy and security problems including their organisational, legal, and human aspects. Some of the challenges the group has worked on are: developing encrypted communications that are easy to use, designing lightweight defences against ransomware, creating data sharing platforms that users can trust, developing applications for the detection of online deception, and setting up policies that are easy to understand and implement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul Bayesian networks are probabilistic models that can represent and reason about uncertain relationships, while subjective networks incorporate subjective assessments and opinions into the trust evaluation process. By combining these two approaches, the project seeks to develop more robust and accurate trust evaluation algorithms.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"ulux-list\">\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\"><strong>Design of a Sofware Architecture for Subjective Trust Networks:&nbsp;<\/strong>We aim to design Subjective Trust Networks that are capable of supporting a trust evaluation engine in Zero Trust scenarios. Zero Trust refers to the security concept where no pre-assigned trust is assumed between entities, and access is granted based on continuous verification and monitoring.
