As these sources are weather dependent, they do not provide constant electricity supply, but fluctuate depending on varying conditions. Thus, Luxembourg\u2019s domestic and imported power supply will fluctuate more in the future. On the demand side, Luxembourg\u2019s electricity system will feature more \u2018smartness\u2019, including options for flexible demand. Creos, Luxembourg\u2019s grid operator, must balance supply and demand in the power grid and seeks to understand how to activate this demand flexibility to meet intermittent power generation. In this collaborative partnership, we use Creos\u2019s unique data access to clarify Luxembourg\u2019s flexibility potential and develop tools and insights for Creos regarding future energy needs for Luxembourg. The project also aims to develop novel methods for studying and simulating flexibility provision by customers.
