It aims to provide innovative regulatory frameworks and legally compliant socio-technical solutions to counter online disinformation and its effects. The project intends to complement this regulatory arsenal with training modules in media education based on an understanding of the effects of media literacy skills (or incompetence) and behaviours on the spread of disinformation. REMEDIS intends to analyse the possible legal instruments that can regulate the phenomenon of fake news and to balance them with users\u2019 freedom of expression. It also aims to design automated means that question the origin and the integrity of a piece of information and reconstruct its information flow in a verifiable still privacy-preserving manner. The project will also develop a large comprehensive study of (dis)informational practices in order to anchor the proposed solutions in the practices and behavior-determining factors of the actors (individuals, platforms, media). Lastly, REMEDIS aims to provide representations of this automated reasoning so that it can be easily understood by humans, like social media users.","rp_start_date":"2022-06-01 16:24:24","rp_duration":48,"rp_main_funder":"Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR)","rp_other_funders":["Belgian Fund for Scientific Research (F.R.S.\u2013FNRS)"],"rp_external_partners":["UCLouvain","Universit\u00e9 Saint Louis Brussels"],"rp_keywords":["information","regulatory frameworks","fake news"],"rp_members":[{"name":"Gabriele LENZINI","isPI":true,"isExternal":false,"featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwMDIyMDBfX0dhYnJpZWxlIExFTlpJTkk=","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/blog\/people\/gabriele-lenzini\/","id":"50002200"}]},"research-project-status":[271],"research-project-type":[263],"field-of-interest":[281],"organisation":[160,197],"authorship":[44],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/5998"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/core-researches"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"version-history":[{"count":2,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/5998\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":12543,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/core-researches\/5998\/revisions\/12543"}],"wp:authorship":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/44"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5998"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"research-project-status","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/research-project-status?post=5998"},{"taxonomy":"research-project-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/research-project-type?post=5998"},{"taxonomy":"field-of-interest","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/field-of-interest?post=5998"},{"taxonomy":"organisation","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/organisation?post=5998"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
