However, such systems can be enhanced using mathematical models. For example, in parking assist systems, a mathematical model provides methods for focusing the scan area around the vehicle to obtain reliable data about the scene. The intelligent algorithms can then better recognise from the sensor data that there are, for example, a bin and a person nearby. The model focuses automatically on the person as the critical element.\n\nCurrently, such models are developed on a case-by-case basis \u2013 a time-consuming process. But AGNOSTIC provides a framework to streamline their development.\n\nIn particular, the aim of the AGNOSTIC project is to combine two established models for signal processing using artificial intelligence techniques in order to enhance the way such complex systems function. The research path includes exploring new radar technologies, which leads to the development of a novel, high performance radar system that would enable efficient target detection and tracking.","rp_start_date":"2017-10-01 14:53:08","rp_duration":60,"rp_main_funder":"EUROPEAN COMMISSION - ERC","rp_other_funders":[],"rp_external_partners":[],"rp_keywords":["Signal processing","Radar","Artificial intelligence","Machine learning"],"rp_members":[{"id":"50002797","isExternal":false,"isPI":true,"name":"Bj\u00f6rn Ottersten","featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwMDI3OTdfX0Jqw7ZybiBPVFRFUlNURU4=","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/blog\/people\/bjorn-ottersten\/"},{"id":"50002712","isExternal":false,"isPI":false,"name":"Bhavani Shankar","featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwMDI3MTJfX0JoYXZhbmkgU2hhbmthciBNWVNPUkUgUkFNQSBSQU8=","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/blog\/people\/bhavani-shankar-mysore-rama-rao\/"},{"id":"50065878","isExternal":false,"isPI":false,"name":"Shree Sharma","featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwNjU4NzhfX0RocnV2IFNIQVJNQQ==","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/blog\/people\/dhruv-sharma\/"},{"id":"50001234","isExternal":false,"isPI":false,"name":"Symeon Chatzinotas","featuredImageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/en\/person-image\/NTAwMDEyMzRfX1N5bWVvbiBDSEFUWklOT1RBUw==","detailsPageUrl":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/snt-en\/blog\/people\/symeon-chatzinotas\/"},{"id":"50022494","isExternal":false,"isPI":false,"name":"Thang X.
