Rawan joined the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg as a doctoral candidate within the Digital Financial Services and Cross-Organisational Digital Transformations research group, FINATRAX, led by Professor Gilbert Fridgen.
Research
Rawan’s research explores the intersection of energy flexibility, household demand response, and consumer behaviour. She currently works on the FlexBeAn project, which investigates the flexibility potential of households and the main factors that influence it. Her focus is on analysing how household flexibility provision could affect electricity grid stability under future demand and supply scenarios.
Work experience
Before joining SnT, Rawan worked as a Research Assistant at the American University of Beirut, where she focused on assessing the progress of the electricity transition in developing countries.
Educational background
Rawan holds a Master’s degree in Energy Studies and has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University of Beirut.
