Finnovation Hub

Shaping the financial industry of tomorrow

Research plays a key role in the digital evolution of the financial sector. The Finnovation Hub aims to help Luxembourg further develop its reputation as one of the world’s leading financial centres.

The Hub focuses on promoting innovation in finance, spanning topics such as cybersecurity, FinTech, RegTech, sustainable finance, and SupTech. It leverages solutions based on advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and distributed ledger to foster partnerships with financial institutions.

At a glance

Over time, financial firms change their workflows and embrace new technologies. However, the digital world is in constant transformation. It’s not unusual for a new technology to disrupt the market, completely uprooting established processes.

Supported by the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance and led by Dr. Jean Hilger, the Finnovation Hub identifies key areas of improvement for financial institutions in the Grand Duchy.

The Hub maps the needs of the sector and acts as a research pole to develop innovative solutions, whether by facilitating the creation of partnerships between the financial sector and SnT, by fostering entrepreneurship among the researchers’ community, or by increasing awareness about technologies and market needs.

About the Finnovation Hub

Emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital ledger technology such as blockchain, and quantum computing bring new opportunities as well as new challenges for the financial sector. This rapid digitalisation has been further spurred by the recent pandemic.

The Finnovation Hub, supported by the Ministry of Finance, fuels research activities aimed at solving challenges in the financial services sector and will facilitate the transfer of innovative technology to both the public and private sector.”
