The University of Luxembourg is committed to analysing and responding to the ever-increasing impact of digitalisation on society, while playing a pioneering role in scientific discovery and talent development. <\/p>\n\n\n

    \n\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    This ambition is intertwined with that of Luxembourg, which aims to become a leading digital society and data-driven economy, as set out in the country’s strategic initiative ‘Accelerating Digital Sovereignty 2030’ in the fields of AI, quantum technologies and data. The University community has the expertise and infrastructure necessary to fully support such an ambition. As the country’s only university, the University of Luxembourg will also take up its role in addressing the ethical and societal challenges arising from the digital transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \nInitiatives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • The University will strengthen its expertise in the field of high-performance computing, taking into account research and education needs. In coordination with national public and private actors, this investment aims to support research in all STEM and SSH disciplines and to provide the country with highly qualified talent. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Activities in the fields of quantum science and technology will be intensified and a quantum strategy developed to bring together initiatives across Luxembourg. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Artificial intelligence, which has a profound impact on society, deserves special attention. Training on and with AI will be strengthened. Technological mastery, critical thinking and understanding of ethical dilemmas will be central elements of this. The University will increasingly use AI as a tool to accelerate scientific discoveries and their impact, particularly when based on massive data sets, whether in science, technology or Social Sciences and Humanities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • The University will reinforce its activities and expertise further in High Performance Computing (HPC) and data science and enter the quantum era. It has the aim to stimulate their wider use across all its disciplines in both Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics and Social Sciences and Humanities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n
