This course will explore the concepts of liquidity provision, monitoring, and government guarantees. We will study seminal models and recent advances in the field to gain insights into these topics. By the end of this course, students will be able to critically evaluate seminal banking models and understand the implications of recent research. Moreover, students will develop analytical skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of the field of financial intermediation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of this course, students will be able to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From a positive angle, understand the role of banks in the creation of liquidity, as well as recognize its limits in the context of some impossibility results related to liquidity provision.
