{"id":7599,"date":"2024-06-24T15:20:01","date_gmt":"2024-06-24T13:20:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/research-en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=7599"},"modified":"2024-06-24T15:20:02","modified_gmt":"2024-06-24T13:20:02","slug":"cross-border-labor-mobility-lecture-by-stelios-michalopoulos","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/research-en\/news\/cross-border-labor-mobility-lecture-by-stelios-michalopoulos\/","title":{"rendered":"Cross-Border Labor Mobility lecture by Stelios Michalopoulos"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"the-songs-of-refugees\"\n    >\nThe Songs of Refugees<br><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On 20 June 2024, we were delighted to welcome <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/steliosecon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prof. Stelios Michalopoulos<\/a> from Brown University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of our lecture series on Cross-Border Labor Mobility, Prof. Michalopoulos delivered an insightful lecture titled \u201c<strong>The Songs of Refugees<\/strong>.\u201d He shared his study on how refugee songs reflect uprootedness, the political leanings of refugee descendants, and the role of narratives and emotions in political messaging.<br><br>This lecture series is organized by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/liser---luxembourg-institute-of-socio-economic-research\/\">Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER)<\/a>\u00a0&amp; the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management (DSEFM) from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/university-of-luxembourg\/\">University of Luxembourg<\/a>, in the framework of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/fonds-national-de-la-recherche\/\">Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Luxembourg<\/a>\u00a0funded project<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/feed\/hashtag\/?keywords=across&amp;highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6862318964169572352\"> ACROSS<\/a>.<br><br>The next lecture series will start on September 2024!
