There are many benefits to processing personal data, ranging from scientific advances to business. The European Union has recognised the advantages of a digital market and services. However, this processing must be carried out in a way that respects privacy and complies with the law. In this way, the privacy and security of personal data are interdisciplinary challenges that require multiple perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ULIDE<\/a> researcher, Dr Negri-Ribalta<\/a>, was invited by the Taiwanese government to present at the APEC Workshop on Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Opportunities and Challenges to discuss interdisciplinarity in data protection from a requirements engineering perspective.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this event, Dr Negri-Ribalta emphasized the importance of including data protection requirements in the early phases of the software development lifecycle and ensuring compliance with regulations. As part of her work with IAS<\/a>, at the SnT<\/a> and ULIDE<\/a>, she discussed the need to consider all stakeholder expectations and how communication is often a major challenge for interdisciplinary teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
