FORMAT<\/strong>: Workshop with expert presentations, Q&A and concluding roundtable <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can artificial intelligence be designed to support, rather than undermine, paths to peace in conflict zones? As AI reshapes warfare, mediation, and humanitarian response, its potential to either deepen divisions or foster reconciliation hinges on intentional design and ethical governance. Drawing on insights from international experts in this field, this event explores how AI can be structured to uphold international humanitarian law (IHL) and create conditions for conflict resolution. From predictive analytics to humanitarian coordination, AI tools can either exacerbate tensions or serve as neutral platforms for dialogue, depending on their alignment with legal norms and human rights. But realizing this potential requires confronting critical challenges: How do we prevent algorithmic bias and misuse? Can AI-enabled humanitarian collaboration build trust between belligerent parties? And what safeguards are needed to ensure technology amplifies, rather than obstructs, the delicate work of mediation and reconciliation? This workshop with leading experts attempts to examine the opportunities and risks at the intersection of AI, conflict, and peacebuilding – and to reimagine technology as a force for sustainable dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
