With some 305,000 visitors recorded in 2023, the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC)<\/a> not only surpassed its pre-pandemic attendance, but it has also made a 77% jump compared to 2022!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are seeing a clear movement of the public towards libraries, as the Biblioth\u00e8que Nationale du Luxembourg is also experiencing increases of the same order,” explains its manager Marie-Pierre Pausch-Antoine<\/a>, interviewed on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day on 23 April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\nFrom dark matter to grey matter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The LLC opened its doors in September 2018 at the heart of the Belval campus. Installed in a former metallurgical complex, the library reflects Belval’s past and embodies its present as well as its future: a place for knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the site is known for housing 10,7 km of bookshelves and 184,000 books spread over 14,000 m\u00b2 of floor space, it is also a place where the entire academic community can meet and work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to traditional media, the LLC also offers almost 900,000 electronic books and 77,800 digital journals. These are materials that members of the academic community can consult from their own computers, adding yet another string to the already well-stocked bow of the LLC team.
