In order to celebrate this occasion, Art2Cure decided to support an important transatlantic Parkinson\u2019s research collaboration between Columbia University and the University of Luxembourg. Prof. Dr. Rejko Kr\u00fcger\u2019s research group from the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) of the University of Luxembourg, and Prof. Dr. Serge Przedboski\u2019s laboratory from the Columbia University, are joining forces to lead a cutting-edge research project on Parkinson\u2019s disease.\u00a0<\/p><p><\/p><p>The Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience Group, headed by Prof. Dr. Rejko Kr\u00fcger, at the LCSB, aim to elucidate molecular signalling pathways leading to neurodegeneration in Parkinson\u2019s disease and to establish a bridge between basic research and the clinic in order to develop new neuroprotective therapeutic strategies in the treatment of this disease.<\/p><p>Prof. Dr. Serge Przedboski and his team\u2019s focus lies on the molecular and cellular biology of neurodegenerative disorders such as Parkinson\u2019s disease and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).<\/p><p>Art2Cure New York helps to enable this important exchange of expertise between the Clinical and Experimental Neuroscience Group and Prof. Przedboski\u2019s laboratory, which allows researchers to continue the high quality research on Parkinson\u2019s disease.<\/p><p>Philippe Lamesch, Vice-President of Art2Cure, explains: \u201cWe strongly believe that bringing together researchers from different backgrounds with complementary sets of expertise, such as in the case of Columbia and Luxembourg Universities, their biomedical research can be accelerated and the path towards a cure be shortened. We are glad to be able to contribute to this important partnership through the funds raised during the Art2Cure exhibition.\u201d<\/p><p>The Art2Cure fundraiser is taking place at the famous Ronald Feldman Gallery in New York City\u2019s SoHo district. The show is organised by the Luxembourgish non-profit organisation Art2Cure in collaboration with the Consulate of Luxembourg in New York.
