Cette maladie neurod\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative, qui touche plus de 6 millions de personnes dans le monde, est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement diagnostiqu\u00e9e lorsque des sympt\u00f4mes moteurs apparaissent et que les l\u00e9sions neurologiques sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 importantes. La d\u00e9tecter de fa\u00e7on pr\u00e9coce permettrait donc de prendre en charge les patients plus t\u00f4t afin de retarder la progression de la maladie. Confirmer la pr\u00e9sence des prot\u00e9ines microbiennes s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9es dans le sang ou les selles des personnes \u00e0 risque et des patients sera le premier pas vers un outil de d\u00e9pistage pr\u00e9coce non invasif. La subvention va notamment permettre \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe d&rsquo;\u00e9tudier la faisabilit\u00e9 technique de leur m\u00e9thode et d&rsquo;\u00e9valuer son potentiel commercial en r\u00e9alisant une analyse de march\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"de-la-recherche-a-lapplication-clinique-avec-des-partenaires-internationaux\"\n    >\nDe la recherche \u00e0 l&rsquo;application clinique avec des partenaires internationaux<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet va impliquer plusieurs partenaires internationaux, \u00e0 la fois pour la recherche clinique et pour l&rsquo;\u00e9laboration d&rsquo;une strat\u00e9gie de commercialisation. Des collaborations \u00e9tablies avec le professeur Brit Mollenhauer de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.paracelsus-kliniken.de\/pkd-akut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Paracelsus-Klinik<\/a> \u00e0 Kassel et de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.umg.eu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University Medical Center G\u00f6ttingen<\/a>, ainsi qu&rsquo;avec l\u2019\u00e9quipe du professeur Ami Bhatt \u00e0 l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stanford.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Universit\u00e9 de Stanford<\/a> contribueront par exemple \u00e0 la collecte d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillons et aux \u00e9tudes cliniques. En parall\u00e8le, des partenaires tels que Dr Robert Hettich de l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ornl.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oak Ridge National Laboratory<\/a> et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.catalyze-group.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Catalyze<\/a> apporteront leur aide pour certaines analyses et pour le d\u00e9veloppement commercial. D&rsquo;autres collaborateurs ont par ailleurs d\u00e9j\u00e0 manifest\u00e9 leur int\u00e9r\u00eat pour le projet : <a href=\"https:\/\/senostic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SeNostic GmbH<\/a>, une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 allemande qui d\u00e9veloppe des outils diagnostiques innovants pour les troubles neurod\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratifs, et <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlc.health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NLC Health Ventures<\/a>, un fonds d&rsquo;investissement bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Amsterdam qui se consacre \u00e0 la transformation de d\u00e9couvertes scientifiques en applications cliniques pr\u00eates \u00e0 \u00eatre commercialis\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab Plusieurs choses m\u2019ont permis d\u2019obtenir cette bourse de l\u2019ERC et ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 ce succ\u00e8s : un s\u00e9jour \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Stanford en 2024 au cours duquel j&rsquo;ai pos\u00e9 les bases scientifiques du projet, puis, \u00e0 mon retour, la poursuite des travaux avec des collaborateurs de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du Luxembourg et le soutien des Rotary Clubs du Luxembourg au travers du programme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espoir-en-tete.lu\/le-projet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Espoir-en-T\u00eate<\/a> \u00bb, conclut le professeur Wilmes. \u00ab Nous esp\u00e9rons maintenant que ce projet va aboutir au premier test diagnostique sanguin bas\u00e9 sur des prot\u00e9ines issues du microbiote pour une maladie chronique. Il s&rsquo;agirait d&rsquo;une avanc\u00e9e majeure pour le d\u00e9pistage pr\u00e9coce et la prise en charge de la maladie de Parkinson, qui permettrait d&rsquo;intervenir t\u00f4t et d&rsquo;innovation de l&rsquo;Union europ\u00e9enne (convention n\u00b0 863664).<\/p>\n\n<p>Le s\u00e9jour du professeur Wilmes \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Stanford a \u00e9t\u00e9 financ\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une bourse de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulbright.be\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Commission Fulbright pour la Belgique et le Luxembourg<\/a> et \u00e0 une bourse INTER-MOBILILTY du <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnr.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Luxembourg National Research Fund<\/a> (r\u00e9f\u00e9rence 17856242).<\/p>\n\n<p>Le projet \u00ab Microbiome-derived amyloids as triggers of protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases \u00bb, men\u00e9 en collaboration avec les professeurs Michael Heneka et Alexandre Tkatchenko, est soutenu par un financement des Rotary Clubs du Luxembourg dans le cadre du programme <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espoir-en-tete.lu\/le-projet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer
