develop innovative mathematical and computational models at different scales of biological organization to address challenges and guide therapies in stem cell research, regenerative medicine, and disease modelling. In particular, one of the goals of our research is the development of computational methods to guide strategies for cellular regeneration and rejuvenation for cell therapy in the context of aging and disease. In his presentation, Prof del Sol described several applications of multi-scale computational models developed in his team for regenerative medicine and brain aging and disease. These applications further illustrate the utility of this approach for illuminating biological mechanisms and that highlight the synergy between experimental and computational efforts.<\/p>\n\n<p>Invited speaker at the XXVI Biennial meeting of the International Society of Eye Research in 2024 &#8220;A single cell-based computational platform for cellular conversion to generate functionally mature cells -application to the generation of Human Limbal Stem Cells&#8221;. Both of his labs in Luxembourg and Spain have been consistently funded by national and international research grants, some of which have been together with top scientists in the field of stem cell research and disease modelling.<\/p>\n\n<p>Member of the Program Organizing Committee for the \u201c2020 International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) annual meeting\u201d, Virtual. Prof del Sol was selected to be a member of the organising committee; this was the first ISSCR meeting with a dedicated session on \u201cMachine learning and computational approaches\u201d.
