{"id":4385,"date":"2024-04-02T12:39:26","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T10:39:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/lcsb-en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=4385"},"modified":"2024-08-08T11:43:22","modified_gmt":"2024-08-08T09:43:22","slug":"rotary-club-of-dudelange-supports-the-lcsbs-research-on-rare-childhood-diseases","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/lcsb-en\/news\/rotary-club-of-dudelange-supports-the-lcsbs-research-on-rare-childhood-diseases\/","title":{"rendered":"Rotary Club of Dudelange supports the LCSB&#8217;s research on rare childhood diseases"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>On the occasion of the fourth edition of the &#8220;Prix Jeunes Talents&#8221; organised by the Ecole R\u00e9gionale de Musique, the Rotary Club of Dudelange has once again called for support for the Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) to promote research into rare childhood diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration between the <a href=\"https:\/\/dudelange.rotary2160.org\/en\/?ce=1\">Rotary Club of Dudelange<\/a> and the Ecole R\u00e9gionale de Musique started in January 2020 with the first edition of the &#8220;Prix Jeunes Talents&#8221;. This competition rewards young musicians for their commitment and achievements at the Ecole R\u00e9gionale de Musique. The event took place in the Saint-Martin church in Dudelange, where the winners performed alongside professional musicians from the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg (OCL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the award ceremony, the Rotary Club of Dudelange took the opportunity to raise funds for the LCSB and its research into rare childhood diseases. During the evening, Prof. Carole Linster and Agnes Hendricks, R&amp;D Specialist at the Linster Laboratory, had the opportunity to present their important work in the field of rare paediatric diseases at the University of Luxembourg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The donations, totalling 2,000 euros, were handed over to representatives of the Rotary Club of Dudelange in February after an impressive tour of the laboratory. Professor Carole Linster and her team, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/lcsb-en\/research-groups\/enzymology-metabolism\/\">Enzymology &amp; Metabolism Group<\/a>, accepted the funds for further research. &#8220;We are very pleased with our long-standing partnership with the Rotary Club of Dudelange,&#8221; said Prof Linster. &#8220;The continuous financial support is invaluable for our
