Hugo Rangel Da Costa is a biochemist trained at the University of Porto, where he obtained a Master degree in molecular biology. The focus of his master’s thesis was investigating a group of natural products displaying a wide range of biological activities called lanthipeptides. Pursuing his interest in gene regulation and epigenetics, he moved to Germany in 2018 to study ribosomal RNA expression regulation through long non-coding RNA. In 2023, he joined the LCSB as a research support technician within the Neuroinflammation group.
