Endspurt bei der Luxemburger Parkinson Studie.<\/p>

In der Luxemburger Parkinson Studie, einem Teil des National Centre for Excellence on Research on Parkinson’s Disease<\/i>, erkl\u00e4ren sich Menschen mit und ohne Parkinson damit einverstanden, dass Parkinson-Spezialisten regelm\u00e4\u00dfig genauestens ihren Gesundheitszustand untersuchen.<\/p>

Die Probanden nehmen an neurologischen Untersuchungen teil, in denen Bewegungsabl\u00e4ufe analysiert sowie Aufmerksamkeit, Ged\u00e4chtnis, Sehverm\u00f6gen, Sprache und Geruchsinn getestet werden. Au\u00dferdem werden sie gebeten, kleine Mengen von K\u00f6rperfl\u00fcssigkeiten wie Blut, Speichel oder Urin abzugeben. Die Wissenschaftler wollen mit den regelm\u00e4\u00dfigen Untersuchungen (einmal j\u00e4hrlich bei Erkrankten und alle vier Jahre bei Gesunden) Fr\u00fcherkennungszeichen aufdecken, mit deren Hilfe sich eine aufkommende Parkinson-Krankheit fr\u00fcher diagnostizieren l\u00e4sst. Ihre Forschung soll die Basis legen f\u00fcr neue, personenbezogene und damit ma\u00dfgeschneiderte Therapien gegen Parkinson.<\/p>

NCER-PD Forschung hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, Nutzen f\u00fcr den Patienten zu generieren und ihre Lebensqualit\u00e4t zu verbessern, wie der Koordinator von NCER-PD, Professor Rejko Kr\u00fcger, sagt: \u201eWir haben hier die gro\u00dfe Chance, die meisten Menschen aus Luxemburg und der Gro\u00dfregion, bei denen heute Parkinson diagnostiziert ist, zur Mitwirkung an unserer Forschung einzuladen und sie an Ergebnissen wie etwa einer verbesserten Diagnostik oder zuk\u00fcnftigen neuen Therapien teilhaben zu lassen.\u201c<\/p>\n

\nNoch 200 neue Teilnehmer gesucht: je 100 Menschen mit und ohne Parkinson<\/h2>\n

Seit 2015 sind die vielen an NCER-PD beteiligten Kooperationspartner aus Luxemburgs Forschung dabei, Menschen f\u00fcr die Kohorte zu gewinnen. Mit gro\u00dfem Erfolg: Bisher haben sich etwa 1.400 Menschen mit und ohne Parkinson zur Teilnahme entschlossen. \u201eDaf\u00fcr m\u00f6chte ich im Namen des gesamten Teams allen Teilnehmern einen gro\u00dfen Dank aussprechen!\u201c, sagt Kr\u00fcger: \u201eEnde 2019 wollen wir in beiden Gruppen die Zahl 800, also insgesamt 1.600 Teilnehmer erreicht haben. Wir w\u00fcrden uns daher freuen, in naher Zukunft weitere 100 Parkinson-Patienten und 100 gesunde Menschen begr\u00fc\u00dfen zu d\u00fcrfen, die in unserem Programm mitwirken m\u00f6chten.\u201c Diese Zahlen sind erforderlich, damit die Wissenschaftler repr\u00e4sentative wissenschaftliche Aussagen treffen k\u00f6nnen. F\u00fcr die Gruppe der Kontrollperson werden vor allem noch M\u00e4nner \u00fcber 65 Jahre gesucht, um eine m\u00f6glichst gute Vergleichsgruppe zu erhalten.<\/p>

Selbstverst\u00e4ndlich bleiben die T\u00fcren von NCER-PD auch nach 2019 offen f\u00fcr Menschen, bei denen Parkinson dann neu diagnostiziert wird: Sie k\u00f6nnen sich auch in den folgenden Jahren f\u00fcr die Untersuchungen anmelden und an der Luxemburger Parkinson Studie teilnehmen.<\/p>
