We are pleased to announce that Dr Mark Konstantinidis<\/a>, postdoctoral researcher at the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL), has been appointed Thought Leadership Co-Chair of the Young ITA for the 2025\u20132027 term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Young ITA<\/a> is the under 40 branch of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration<\/a> (ITA), a leading global forum for advancing the study and practice of international arbitration. Its Thought Leadership pillar promotes new voices and critical perspectives through publications, competitions, and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n \u201f<\/span>\n I am delighted to be appointed Thought Leadership Co-Chair of the Young ITA for 2025-2027. It is a great honour to be included in the leadership of Young ITA alongside esteemed professionals working in international arbitration from around the world. In my new role, I hope to contribute to the Thought Leadership activities of Young ITA by bringing an academic outlook to an organisation that -rightfully- predominantly caters to practitioners.\u201d\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nKey Responsibilities as Thought Leadership Co-Chair<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As Thought Leadership Co-Chair, he will oversee some of the group\u2019s key initiatives, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • the annual Young ITA Writing Competition and Award, which recognises innovative legal scholarship,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • the quarterly Young ITA Newsletter, a global roundup of developments in arbitration,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • and the development of themes and topics for Young ITA events held across jurisdictions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Reflecting on the challenges facing international arbitration today, Dr Konstantinidis emphasised the importance of inclusive and forward-thinking dialogue within the field:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    “Arbitration has been facing increasing contestation and a range of political, legal and technological challenges globally. Young ITA has had a stellar record of bringing arbitration professionals together. I am keen to ensure that the organisation continues fostering new voices and original, diverse perspectives tackling with these issues. This requires striking an appropriate balance between practicability and academic rigour.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      At the LCEL, Dr Konstantinidis explores the intersection of European law and international arbitration. His new role with Young ITA provides an opportunity to engage with how similar legal debates are approached in different regions around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
