A former agr\u00e9g\u00e9 in public law (1996) with a doctorate from the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.unistra.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Strasbourg <\/a>(1994, summa cum laude), he holds a Jean Monnet Chair in EU Law and Litigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His teaching covers Public Law and EU Law, and his research spans a wide range of EU legal topics: internal market law (free movement of goods, capital and services, State aid and consumer protection), procedural and litigation issues before the<a href=\"https:\/\/curia.europa.eu\/jcms\/jcms\/j_6\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> Court of Justice of the European Union<\/a>, EU institutional law, fundamental rights, intellectual property law, and the EU\u2019s external relations. He has authored or co-edited over a dozen major monographs and collective works, including an article-by-article commentary on the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights (Bruylant, 2023) and a guide to European business law (LexisNexis, 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Picod has held visiting positions at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coleurope.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">College of Europe<\/a> (Bruges), the Max Planck Institute, the University of Luxembourg and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unige.ch\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Geneva<\/a>. He serves as co-director of the <em>Annuaire de droit de l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne<\/em> (Paris 2 University Press) and as scientific director of the <em>Jurisclasseur Europe<\/em> (LexisNexis). He is also on the editorial or scientific boards of several prominent journals\u2014<em>Revue des affaires europ\u00e9ennes<\/em> (Larcier, Brussels), <em>Annuaire fran\u00e7ais de relations internationales<\/em> (Paris 2 University Press), <em>Revista de Derecho Comunitario Europeo<\/em> (Madrid), <em>Eurojus<\/em> (Milan), <em>University of Bologna Law Review<\/em>, and <em>Droit public approfondi<\/em> (Paris 2)\u2014and directs the Bruylant collection \u201cDroit de l\u2019Union europ\u00e9enne,\u201d which encompasses theses, colloquia, manuals, monographs and commentaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Professor Picod\u2019s recent work includes co-editing volumes on EU crisis law (e.g., the COVID-19 crisis and EU law, Bruylant, 2021) and on extraterritoriality in EU law (Bruylant, 2021). He has also published extensively on the CJEU\u2019s case law\u2014for example, in the <em>Jurisprudence de la CJUE<\/em> series (2022\u20132024 editions)\u2014and on the normative foundations of EU law.
