Appointed by the University of Luxembourg\u2019s Board of Governors on 7 June 2024, Prof. Tridimas brings extensive expertise and a strategic vision that will drive the Centre towards becoming a leading hub for European legal studies and research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-quote-people\">\n    <div class=\"quote-people\" role=\"group\">\n        <figure class=\"quote-people__body\">\n            <blockquote class=\"quote-people__blockquote\">\n    <span class=\"quote-people__quote\">\u201f<\/span>\n    I am delighted and honoured to be at the helm of the Centre. I am very grateful to the University for entrusting me with this role. Our aim is to pursue academic excellence and our aspiration is to make the Centre one of the finest places for the study of European law.\u201d\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-wrapper quote-people__figcaption\">\n<p class=\"quote-people__author wp-block-unilux-blocks-plain-text\">Prof. Takis Tridimas (Director LCEL)<\/p><\/div>\n        <\/figure>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n<p>Prof. Tridimas, a distinguished scholar in European law and one of the most frequently cited legal experts by the European Court of Justice, succeeds Prof. Pierre-Henri Conac, who has served as Acting Director since January 2024. Prof. Conac\u2019s leadership has been essential in establishing the structures of the Centre following its transition of the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg into the University of Luxembourg, and his contributions have set the stage for future growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Luxembourg Centre for European Law, the University\u2019s fourth interdisciplinary research centre, was created to address the evolving legal and political challenges within the European Union. Its mission is to combine academic excellence with impactful research and public engagement.
