Diese Ernennung, die am 1. Oktober 2024 in Kraft tritt, wurde vom Aufsichtsrat der Universit\u00e4t auf Empfehlung des Rektors w\u00e4hrend seiner Plenarsitzung am 7. Juni 2024 ausgesprochen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Gr\u00fcndung des Luxembourg Centre for European Law zielt darauf ab, die Forschung und Lehre im Bereich des europ\u00e4ischen Rechts in einem durch zunehmende rechtliche und politische Herausforderungen innerhalb der Europ\u00e4ischen Union gepr\u00e4gten Kontext zu st\u00e4rken. Die Aufgabe dieses Zentrums besteht darin, akademische Exzellenz mit strategischer Forschung zu verbinden, einschlie\u00dflich des Wissenstransfers in die Gesellschaft und der Teilnahme an \u00f6ffentlichen Debatten. Das Zentrum wird ebenfalls die Expertise der Universit\u00e4t und der europ\u00e4ischen Institutionen b\u00fcndeln und dabei auf internationale Kooperationen setzen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Tridimas ist ein weltweit f\u00fcr seine Arbeiten im europ\u00e4ischen Recht anerkannter Akademiker. Er z\u00e4hlt zu den von den Generalanw\u00e4lten des Europ\u00e4ischen Gerichtshofs meistzitierten Autoren. Bevor er 2013 an das King&#8217;s College kam, hatte er den Sir John Lubbock Lehrstuhl f\u00fcr Bankrecht am Queen Mary College der Universit\u00e4t London inne. Er war au\u00dferdem als Referendar (Rechtsreferent) f\u00fcr Generalanwalt Sir Francis Jacobs am Europ\u00e4ischen Gerichtshof in Luxemburg t\u00e4tig und war 2003 leitender Rechtsberater der EU-Pr\u00e4sidentschaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eIch bin sehr stolz darauf, dass sich Prof. Tridimas f\u00fcr die Universit\u00e4t Luxemburg entschieden hat. Wir haben das Luxembourg Centre for European Lawgleichzeitig mit der Integration des Max-Planck-Instituts Luxemburg (MPI) gegr\u00fcndet. Als Gr\u00fcndungsdirektor wird Prof. Tridimas eine strategische Vision und Dynamik einbringen, die es dem Luxembourg Centre for European Law erm\u00f6glichen wird, zu einer Referenz in diesem Bereich zu werden\u201c, erkl\u00e4rte Rektor Jens Kreisel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Tridimas \u00e4u\u00dferte sich begeistert \u00fcber seine neue Aufgabe: \u201eIch f\u00fchle mich durch diese Ernennung geehrt und freue mich darauf, zur Entwicklung eines Exzellenzzentrums f\u00fcr Europarecht beizutragen. Ich bin \u00fcberzeugt, dass wir mit unserem interdisziplin\u00e4ren Ansatz und unseren internationalen Partnerschaften die aktuellen und zuk\u00fcnftigen Herausforderungen Europas bew\u00e4ltigen werden.\u201c Die Universit\u00e4t Luxemburg m\u00f6chte au\u00dferdem dem seit Januar 2024 als Interimdirektor agierenden Prof. Pierre-Henri Conac ihren tiefen empfundenen Dank aussprechen.
