On 19 June, the University had the pleasure of hosting a group of 10 students from the German-French Lyc\u00e9e Schengen, accompanied by their teachers.<\/p>

The visit started with a brief presentation about the University and the study programmes offered by the Faculty. Following that, the students embarked on a guided tour that offered them an exciting journey through various research groups. The first stop was a visit to Prof. Norman Teferle<\/a> and his team, who showcased reality capture and 3D image processing tools and presented captivating examples related to their research.<\/p>

Next, the students were taken to the hydraulic engineering lab, where they had the opportunity to witness a demonstration on treating greywater using constructed wetlands presented by Prof. Joachim Hansen<\/a> and Dr. Silvia Venditti.<\/a><\/p>

The next destination was the robotics lab of Prof. Peter Plapper<\/a>, where Dr. Atal Kumar<\/a> provided a demonstration on how to operate a Kuka robot arm.<\/p>

The visit finished at the Laser Technology Centre, with a demonstration by Dr. Mahdi Elahi<\/a>, who showcased the use of a laser beam to write a students\u2019 names on a small metal plate. This captivating display highlighted the precision and control achieved through laser technology and left the students in awe of its capabilities.<\/p>

Overall, the visit to Campus Kirchberg was an enriching experience for the students from Schengen Lyc\u00e9e<\/a>. They were exposed to cutting-edge research, innovative technologies, and the practical applications of various scientific fields.
