Entitled \u201cAdvanced Asymmetry Tropospheric Products for Meteorology from GNSS and SAR observations\u201d (Vapour), the three-year project funded by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnr.lu\/\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Luxembourg National Research Fund\u00a0(FNR)<\/a>\u00a0aims to enhance the estimation of atmospheric water vapour fields using GNSS and SAR measurements in order to improve numerical weather prediction models in general and also the tracking of severe weather events.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-dev4-reusable-blocks-image  object-fit--contain\">\n    \n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-image unilux-custom-image-block\"\n                alt=\"\"\n            src=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2023\/07\/gnss.jpg\"\n                srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2023\/07\/gnss-300x139.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2023\/07\/gnss.jpg 500w\"\n                style=\"object-position: 50.00% 50.00%; font-family: &quot;object-fit: contain; object-position: 50.00% 50.00%;&quot;; aspect-ratio: 21\/9; object-fit: contain; width: 100%;\"\n        loading=\"lazy\"\n\/>    <\/figure><p>After an introduction by <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/dmath\/people\/jean_marc_schlenker\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Jean-Marc Schlenker<\/a>, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine at the University of Luxembourg and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fnr.lu\/contacts\/marie-claude-marx\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Marie-Claude Marx<\/a>, Programme Manager at the FNR, <a href=\"https:\/\/wwwfr.uni.lu\/recherche\/fstm\/doe\/members\/felix_norman_teferle\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Norman Teferle<\/a>, Professor in Geodesy within the Department of Engineering at the University of Luxembourg presented the project.<\/p><p>\u201cThe Vapour project will provide the next generation, space-geodetic, high-quality, spatiotemporal, asymmetric tropospheric products, to improve numerical weather prediction models for forecasting and derived re-analysis models on national and international levels.
