This event was organised by the University of Luxembourg and PMI Luxembourg Chapter with the following subject: « How can Technology Help Society, in a way that truly adds value? »

Initiated in 2009 by Sergio Coronado, the course “Advance Project Management” enables second-year students of the MICS to create and develop a project in small teams of 4 to 5 people in only 12 weeks. Each year, students are challenged to demonstrate that it is possible to innovate in such a short time. For this academic year 2017-2018, six groups have taken up the challenge to manage short deadline projects with limited resources, and still deliver an end user product.

« This course is a tremendous opportunity for students to manage short deadline projects from the first idea to the realisation. They both learn at professional and personal levels as they have to work in groups, distribute tasks, respect deadlines, find alternatives and generate viable solutions. What I found the most interesting this year was the students’ ideas, which originally and ideally met the challenge”, explains Prof. Dr. Sergio Coronado.

Here are the six projects:

TripAid is a ‘TripAdvisor’-like website designed for people with disabilities to help them find barrier-free hotels, restaurants and other activities, such as concerts, museum visits, etc. The goal of TripAid is to help people to plan a trip or activities adapted to their capabilities.
