En pratique, les particules de lumi\u00e8res sont utilis\u00e9es pour transporter des donn\u00e9es. Unique de par sa couverture car il r\u00e9unit le plus large consortium d\u2019acteurs publics et priv\u00e9s (9 signataires et 13 membres fondateurs), par sa mission ambitieuse, et aussi par la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un b\u00e2timent \u00e0 Metz qui est pens\u00e9 comme un lieu vitrine de la photonique\u202f\u00bb, commente Marc Sciamanna, directeur de l\u2019Institut de Photonique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019institut vise \u00e0 renforcer les synergies entre les acteurs de l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de la photonique, \u00e0 promouvoir les expertises pr\u00e9sentes sur le territoire et \u00e0 contribuer au rayonnement et \u00e0 l\u2019attractivit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9gion Grand Est et du Luxembourg dans le domaine. Ses trois priorit\u00e9s sont la r\u00e9alisation de projets de recherche collaborative, l\u2019attraction et la formation de nouveaux talents et la sensibilisation du grand public aux enjeux de la photonique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les neuf membres sont li\u00e9s par un accord de consortium d\u2019une dur\u00e9e de cinq ans. Sa signature, le 14 f\u00e9vrier 2024, a officiellement valid\u00e9 la cr\u00e9ation de l\u2019Institut de Photonique. Celui-ci r\u00e9unit plus de 300 chercheurs et \u00e9tudiants en photonique \u00e0 travers la r\u00e9gion Grand Est et le Luxembourg.
