In this role, since the beginning of 2020, he was in charge of drafting an input document for the development of a national hydrogen strategy for Luxembourg. In parallel, he was given the opportunity to act as an invited lecturer at the Universit\u00e9 de Lorraine (FR). Prior to this, until the end of 2019, he was an Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the Max-Planck-Institut f\u00fcr Kohlenforschung in M\u00fclheim an der Ruhr (DE), while in 2018 he worked at Stanford University (US) as a Fulbright scholar. He received his PhD in 2016 together with the award for the best PhD thesis at the Universit\u00e9 de Strasbourg (FR).<\/p><p>Pit Losch is particularly interested in topics related to energy, catalysis, materials, chemistry, hydrogen, sustainable development and the decarbonisation of the society.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-dev4-reusable-blocks-image  object-fit--contain\">\n    \n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-image unilux-custom-image-block\"\n                alt=\"\"\n            src=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/01\/gaston_trauffler_dsf9303_processed_v2_small.jpg\"\n                    style=\"object-position: 50.00% 50.00%; font-family: &quot;object-fit: contain; object-position: 50.00% 50.00%;&quot;; aspect-ratio: 16\/9; object-fit: contain; width: 100%;\"\n        loading=\"lazy\"\n\/>    <\/figure><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong>Dr. Gaston Trauffler<\/strong> is heading the industrial policy activities of FEDIL, the Voice of Luxembourg&rsquo;s Industry. He is also a member of FEDIL&rsquo;s Management Committee.<\/p><p>Before joining FEDIL, Gaston was the Director of Communication, Marketing and Strategy and a member of the Management Committee at Luxinnovation, Luxembourg&rsquo;s National Innovation Agency. Gaston held several other positions with the Agency; Head of Strategy, Head of Innovation Management, Design &#038; Strategic Intelligence, Head of Start-up Support and SME Performance.<\/p><p>Gaston further gathered experience as a senior manager at Ernst &#038; Young, EY Luxembourg&rsquo;s business advisory practice in strategy, management and innovation. He also spent several years working in Tokyo, Japan as an industrial analyst in foreign direct investment and as a consultant in Zurich advising technology-based companies in Switzerland, Austria and Germany in innovation management.<\/p><p>Trained at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, Gaston holds a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in mechanical engineering, a master&rsquo;s degree in business engineering and industrial management with a major in biocompatible material sciences, and a PhD in Strategic Management.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-dev4-reusable-blocks-image  object-fit--contain\">\n    \n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-image unilux-custom-image-block\"\n                alt=\"\"\n            src=\"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/20\/2024\/01\/fuel_ausfelder.jpg\"\n                    style=\"object-position: 50.00% 50.00%; font-family: &quot;object-fit: contain; object-position: 50.00% 50.00%;&quot;; aspect-ratio: 16\/9; object-fit: contain; width: 100%;\"\n        loading=\"lazy\"\n\/>    <\/figure><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><\/p><p><strong>Dr. Florian\u00a0Ausfelder\u00a0<\/strong>heads DECHEMA\u2019s energy and climate unit.\u00a0The focus this unit\u2019s work is the transformation of energy-intensive industry to become climate neutral.\u00a0He holds a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Edinburgh.
