Historical cases will be explored for benchmarking, including identifying the ethical pivot points of pressures, opportunities, and choices.\u00a0 The session aims to build the moral courage of researchers, fostering innovation with integrity.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"about-the-speaker\"\n    >\nAbout the speaker<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/asktheethicist.com\/images\/KatrinaCVaug2018.pdf\" target=\"_self\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Katrina Bramstedt<\/a>\u00a0is the\u00a0Secretary General of the Luxembourg Agency for Research Integrity (LARI).\u00a0She\u00a0has 18 years\u2019 experience in bioethics and research ethics, including industry, academia, and clinical settings.<\/p><p>Most recently she was Chair of the research ethics committee at Philips Research and their Senior Ethics Officer.\u00a0Other experience includes leading a medical ethics program with a Professorship at Bond University Medical School (Australia) and directing the Cleveland Clinic\u2019s General Clinical Research Center Research Subject Advocate Program (USA).<\/p><p>She has created and taught numerous courses in research integrity and bioethics, consulted on cases of misconduct, reviewed over 2200 research protocols, performed over 900 ethics consults, and authored 100+ peer-reviewed articles.\u00a0Her personal research areas have focused on organ donation and transplantation and she is an internationally recognized expert in the bioethical issues of Good Samaritan donation as well as composite tissue allografts.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"about-lari\"\n    >\nAbout LARI<\/h3>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/lari.lu\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Luxembourg Agency for Research Integrity (LARI)<\/a>, created in 2016, is a joint venture between the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), the University of Luxembourg, the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), the Luxembourg Institute for Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST).
