of the booming commercial space industry. Growing innovations in space exploration and exploitation require professional figures able to manage the technical side as well as the business side of complex space missions and operations. From day one, the students begin designing their own CubeSat mission.                       Guidance, navigation and control are basic capabilities for all spacecraft.<br>Therefore, the main objective of this course is to provide the students with the capability to basics of guidance and navigation, sensing of planetary robotics and orbital missions and ROS 2 in the course of Introduction to Space Robotics, in this course the classes will be more focused on planetary robotics, going deeper on Guidance and Navigation, the practical use of ROS 2.<br>The students will get a combination of theoretical and practical lectures to implement the learned concepts in Guidance and Navigation with a simulated robot in ROS 2\/Gazebo and its real counterpart to run experiments in the\u00a0 LunaLab, the Lunar Analogue Facility at the University of   <p><br>The goal of this module is a short scientific \/ research project, where the students apply the theoretical and practical background knowledge acquired \u00a0reflect the skills and knowledge project is an introduction to the student to the scientific research, and it can be seen as a preparation for the final MSc thesis. Note that the topic of the scientific project can be related to the MSc Thesis but they should not overlap and have clear different contributions to the state-of-the-art.<br>Having completed the scientific project, the students will be able to<br>Analyse, identify potential solutions and propose a potential solution to a given scientific problem related to the space domain<br>The potential solution should be presented in a detailed manner considering the viability of its implementation and an presenting some tests if the solution requires it for its validation.<br>Plan, organize and conduct project work comprising either theoretical and practical parts, or both.<br>Write a project report (6 pages + 1 page of references) and present results in an oral session.                    <\/div>\n                <\/li>\n                \n                                <li class=\"list-highlighted__item items-start\">\n                    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header\">\n                        <h5 class=\"text-18\"><strong>Description<\/strong><\/h5>\n                    <\/header>\n                    <div class=\"list-highlighted__body\">\n                        <p>The student can propose a topic for the scientific project and reach to a preferred supervisor. Alternatively, the student can choose a topic from the ones offered in Moodle. The topic of the scientific project shall cover a relevant challenges from any of the space domains covered at MSTB, such as for instance space engineering, space informatics, space business and finance or space entrepreneurship.<\/p><p>The project supervisor shall be Professor (Assistant, Associate, Full) or a Research Scientist with ADR of the MSTB. <\/p><p>The project is individual (1 student = 1 project).<\/p><p>Students are required to analyse the problem, to do literature review, to identify potential solutions, and outline or develop a shortlisted solution.
