Together, they provide a snapshot of ongoing activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Medical education and pedagogical innovation<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research in this area focuses on the design and evaluation of medical curricula, with particular emphasis on innovative teaching and mentorship methods, simulation-based learning,&nbsp;the integration of digital technologies&nbsp;and the development of patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE).&nbsp;Activities explore how to better align medical training with clinical practice, strengthen competency-based education, and support learners\u2019 engagement and well-being.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oncology and translational hematology<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research in this area focuses on&nbsp;hemato-oncology, with particular emphasis on&nbsp;lymphoid malignancies&nbsp;and the evolving landscape of immunotherapies including&nbsp;cellular therapies. Activities are grounded in clinical practice&nbsp;and&nbsp;span&nbsp;a broad spectrum of care, from&nbsp;the exploration of innovative therapeutic strategies,&nbsp;the modulation&nbsp;of immunotherapies through adjunctive strategies&nbsp;to supportive care and survivorship.&nbsp;This work contributes to the integration of emerging treatments into clinical care and supports the connection between medical practice and research&nbsp;to improve outcomes and quality of life for patients with&nbsp;hematological cancers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Critical care medicine&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research focuses on intensive care and emergency medicine, particularly post\u2013cardiac arrest care. Activities include collaborative participation in clinical studies with a focus on the investigation of molecular changes induced by cardiac arrest. The overarching goal is to improve patient outcomes following cardiovascular events,&nbsp;which&nbsp;currently&nbsp;remain&nbsp;poor.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Infectious diseases and post-viral syndromes<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This area includes research on infectious diseases and their long-term consequences, with a current focus on Long COVID. Work aims to better understand disease mechanisms, patient trajectories, and recovery patterns, contributing to improved clinical management and follow-up care.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Primary care and community-based research<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emerging research activities focus on strengthening research in general practice and community-based settings. This includes the development of studies in primary care, with an emphasis on patient-centred&nbsp;approaches and strengthening the interface between community
