wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Urban water management is a field of civil engineering in which the activities of engineers merge with the requirements and tasks of environmental protection. For the solution of tasks the linkage of technical know-how with natural sciences and social aspects is necessary. Essential tasks are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"ulux-list\">\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">the provision of drinking water of impeccable quality-<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">the harmless discharge of wastewater<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">the use, storage and, if necessary, discharge of rainwater<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"ulux-list-item\">the purification of wastewater and the disposal of residual materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The aspects of recovering nutrients and energy from wastewater and sewage sludge, as well as the recycling of treated wastewater, are becoming increasingly important.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>In practical and basic research projects, we pursue the goal of developing forward-looking and sustainable processes and technologies &#8211; especially in the field of municipal wastewater treatment. Technical facilities on various scales (laboratory, pilot, semi-technical) are available for this purpose.
