Biology at the Department of Life Sciences and Medicine at the University of Luxembourg. She is co-heading the Signal Transduction Research Group at DHML and she is the Head of DSSE, the Doctoral School of Science and Engineering at the FSTM.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"research\"\n    >\nResearch<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>Her research is focussing on cancer and more specifically on melanoma. In recent years, mechanisms of drug resistance as well as ways to combat resistance to current treatment has been central to her work. Development of innovative in vitro 3D models that reduce the amount of animal experiments has also become an important pillar of her research focus. Stephanie Kreis has an h-index of 30 and often serves as a reviewer for high profile biomedical journals and grant agencies.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"teaching\"\n    >\nTeaching<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>Prof. Kreis is heading the DSSE, the largest doctoral school at the university with more than 600 PhD candidates and more than 300 registered supervisors. As such, she is playing a pivotal role in ensuring high quality doctoral education at UL. Additionally, she teaches in Bachelor programmes of Life Science and Medical education as well as in the Master programme for Molecular and Computational Biomedicine.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n\n<li class=\"list-highlighted__item  wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item\">\n    <header class=\"list-highlighted__header wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-header\">\n    \n<h4 class=\"title text-18 font-bold has-text-align-left wp-block-unilux-blocks-heading\"        id=\"work-experience\"\n    >\nWork Experience<\/h4>\n<div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-bigtext\">\n    <span>\n        \n    <\/span>\n<\/div><\/header><div class=\"list-highlighted__body wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-body\">\n    <div class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-highlighted-list-item-free-content-area\">\n    \n<p>After a Master Degree in Molecular Biology in Germany (University of the Saarland) and a PhD in Virology in South Africa in 1998 (University of the Witwatersrand), she moved to Luxembourg to pursue postdoc positions before joining the Centre Universitaire.
