Studying at the University of Luxembourg is about more than attending lectures and preparing for exams. Students learn from hands-on experiences, international collaboration, and projects that challenge them to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts. Recently, our Bachelor in Computer Science<\/a> and Bachelor in Applied Information Technology<\/a> students took part in the first edition of the Erasmus+ EUROcket Lab, held at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie (IUT) in Metz<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n

The programme brought together students from Luxembourg, Spain, and France. In mixed teams, they spent a week designing, building, and programming model rockets equipped with sensors that could transmit live data to a ground station. It was an intense challenge, combining engineering, software development, and teamwork.<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \u201f<\/span>\n What I\u2019ll remember most is how we dealt with challenges as a team. Things didn\u2019t always go as planned, but that\u2019s what made it feel real and rewarding. I also learned a lot beyond the technical side, especially about teamwork and adapting in a fast-paced environment.\u201d\n<\/blockquote>\n

For many students, the experience was as much about collaboration and personal growth as technical skills. They gained practical experience in problem-solving under real constraints, coordinated tasks across diverse teams, and worked directly with hardware: wiring, soldering, and integrating electronics for the first time.<\/p>\n\n\n

\n \u201f<\/span>\n I particularly appreciated that both hardware and software components could be customised. It encouraged creativity, engagement, and strong collaboration among the students.\u201d\n<\/blockquote>\n

This project gave students the chance to collaborate, experiment boldly, and tackle challenges in real time. Such experiences reflect the University of Luxembourg\u2019s approach to education: preparing students for a world where innovation, teamwork, and adaptability are key. What they learn here will shape how they solve tomorrow\u2019s problems, wherever those challenges take them.<\/p>\n\n\n
