<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Daniele Privitera<\/a> recently joined the University of Luxembourg in March 2026 as a Research Scientist (Nursing Sciences) within the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine. Discover more about his background and the motivations behind his decision to join our institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Could you introduce yourself?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a nurse with a clinical background in emergency and critical care. My work sits at the intersection of nursing science, acute care, and patient safety, with a particular interest in vascular access, respiratory support, and evidence-based practice. I have worked for many years in high-acuity clinical settings, and I remain especially interested in how research can improve decision-making and outcomes in real-world care environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What inspired you to join the University of Luxembourg?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before joining the University of Luxembourg, I worked in both clinical and research roles in Italy. Most recently, I served as Head of Clinical Research Nurses at IRCCS Istituto Auxologico Italiano in Milan. Before that, I worked as a critical care registered nurse at IRCCS Multimedica in ICU. From 2014 to 2023, I was an emergency nurse at the Emergency Department of ASST Grande Ospedale Metropolitano Niguarda in Milan, where I gained extensive experience in acute and emergency care. Earlier in my career, I also worked in general medicine and intermediate care units, and I volunteered as a nurse with the mobile clinic of the NGO EMERGENCY.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside my clinical work, I have also been involved in teaching and academic activities. As an adjunct professor, I have taught in critical care nursing at the University of Milan Statale, supported postgraduate students in research development and clinical training. My academic background includes a PhD in Nursing Sciences and Public Health, an MSc in Nursing, and postgraduate training in critical care nursing and vascular access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What will your role within our faculty be?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a Research Scientist in Nursing Science within the Department of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, where I contribute to the Bachelor in Nursing Sciences \u2013 Specialisation: Anaesthesia and Critical Care Nurse<\/a><\/strong> programme.
