{"id":35720,"date":"2022-05-25T12:11:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T10:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/?post_type=news&#038;p=35720"},"modified":"2025-02-25T14:11:53","modified_gmt":"2025-02-25T13:11:53","slug":"department-of-engineering-digitizes-extensive-library","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/www.uni.lu\/fstm-en\/news\/department-of-engineering-digitizes-extensive-library\/","title":{"rendered":"Department of Engineering digitizes extensive library"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<section class=\"wp-block-unilux-blocks-free-section section\"><div class=\"container xl:max-w-screen-xl\">\n<p>As part of the Gilbert Trausch Project, carried out by the Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) and the Institut d\u2019Histoire (IHist) of the University of Luxembourg, the Geodesy and Geospatial Engineering team at the Department of Engineering&nbsp;(DoE) has been closely collaborating with the C2DH since late 2019 in order to create a 3D model of the house and bookshelves of the late Professor Gilbert Trausch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trausch, a renowned Luxembourg historian who passed away in 2018, had built, over almost half a century, an important private scientific library containing over 20,000 books and publications. The idea behind the project was to digitally recreate a section of the library and allow the public easy and continuous access to a selection of these works.
