The 40th edition of the European Meeting of Luxembourgish Students (REEL) took place last weekend in Cologne, focusing on the theme “Designing the Future: Skills in the Context of Digitalisation.” This gathering brought together around 140 Luxembourgish students who are pursuing their studies across Europe to discuss key issues related to student life and higher education policy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, honoured by the presence of His Royal Highness, the Grand Duke of Luxembourg, highlighted the need to shape the future in an increasingly digital and AI-driven world. Representing the University of Luxembourg, Professor Christophe Ley<\/a> from the Department of Mathematics participated in a round table discussion alongside St\u00e9phanie Obertin<\/a>, Minister for Digitalisation and Minister for Research and Higher Education, Sylvia Ridlesprige<\/a> from the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, \u00a0Serge Linckels<\/a> from the Digital Learning Hub Luxembourg, and Kimon Leners<\/a>, President of D\u2019Association des Cercles d\u2019\u00c9tudiants Luxembourgeois (ACEL). The panel explored concerns raised by young people about the impact of AI on their future careers\u2014an issue that the University of Luxembourg is committed to addressing with care and foresight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the round table, the event featured several workshops in collaboration with ACEL, covering topics such as the new law regulating non-profits (ASBLs) and an upcoming debate on the future of pensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
